Some Ground Breaking News

dozerOn March 28, 2013, the big yellow dozer rumbled to life. As the dirt yielded to the power of the machine, we felt our excitement grow. We were breaking ground for our much-needed storage facility at Bear Pen. We could wait no longer to get the project moving. We decided to take a leap of faith. We had enough money in hand to pay the dozer operator.  We have almost enough money to pour the footer and floor. The money for the steel building is still in the hands of those whom we trust the Lord will nudge to help us.

As I was watching the dozer prepare the site, I was praying for additional support.   At that moment two trucks were on their way from Wilmore, Kentucky, to Bear Pen Worship Center. They were loaded to capacity with beds, desks, and dressers donated to our ministry by Asbury University.  Part of this furniture will be shared with Kentucky Mountain Bible College, as they desperately need these items to replace old and worn out furniture in their dorms. There is another truckload of gas ranges, tables, and more furniture waiting at Asbury to be loaded. We are already hard-pressed to find temporary storage and are forced constantly to move items from place to place until the storage facility is ready.

The need for the storage facility is urgent.  We have been offered pews, Sunday school room furniture, pulpit furniture, and more. Recently, a building supply store donated new storm doors, stainless steel sinks and a variety of other building supplies, with the promise of more to come.  As the church-planting ministry moves forward, adequate storage space will save us thousands and thousands of dollars.

Are you one of those who are waiting for a nudge from the Lord to join us? We are breaking ground in faith and moving ahead as the Lord provides. I wish you could have been there to feel the excitement and smell the fresh earth rolling in front of the dozer blade. We are depending on the backing of friends and supporters. One couple that has been on site and seen the need committed a matching gift to the storage facility for up to $5,000. Donations can be made to New Hope International Ministries and designated for Eastern Kentucky Ministry. Our mailing address is:

Please keep us in your prayers as we take this step of faith.

In Him,

Brother Roy
