Ridge Chapel

In 2011 a friend of NHIM, Pastor David Spencer, introduced us to a prospective church plant on Shoemaker Ridge in Lee County, Kentucky.  A fire 23 years ago rendered the small church unusable.  Eighty-five families live in the area surrounding the church, where no church has been in operation all these years.

In partnership with Pastor Spencer, NHIM began in earnest to help restore the church in January 2012.  The family that owned the property on which the old building sat leased the property to the pastor and gave permission to restore the church.  NHIM was able to secure funds for a septic system, exterior and interior paint, and other materials through the generosity of local churches and individuals.

On Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012, the building was dedicated, and several representatives from NHIM were privileged to participate in the opening service of the new congregation.
